Groups & Workshops

Groups are a great way to build connection and learn new skills.  I have been facilitating workshops for as long as I have been counselling.  I can be contracted to run support or therapy groups or to give a workshop or presentation.  I am happy to tailor a workshop or create a presentation to meet your organization’s needs.  I have run groups for men, women, youth and children.

Support Groups & Group Counselling

Group counselling and support groups are available for groups of people who face a particular challenge: disordered eating, parenting, HIV/AIDS, medical students, post-secondary students, student parents, teen parents, parents of at risk youth, people with mental illness, people looking for work, grief and loss, death and dying, those with chronic pain, those with addictions, those exploring career options, those caring for a parent, etc.  Group counselling and support groups can also be helpful for those who are in the same particular phase in their lives such as newly retired seniors or new parents.

Presentation have less of an experiential focus and are more about learning theory and/or reviewing the latest research in the field.  I have most recently offered presentations on Attachment and Family Systems Theory but can be contracted to develop other presentations for your organization.

Workshops &
Psychoeducational Groups

Workshops and psychoeducational groups are groups that emphasize learning or the acquisition of skills. I use a blend of experiential exercises along with pertinent information so that workshop participants leave with insight into themselves and some new skills or strategies to employ.
