My name is Abigail, and I am grateful to be living on the traditional, unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations. I am a Chinese-Canadian cisgender woman, born in the Lower Mainland to immigrant parents. I was raised by my Chinese-speaking grandmother and am conversationally fluent in Cantonese. As the eldest child in an Asian household, I am deeply familiar with struggles concerning parental relationships, perfectionism, and cultural identity.

Therapy with me is both goal-oriented and emotionally-focused, depending on your needs. Along with achieving your unique goals, my purpose is to help you gain more autonomy in your life and feel empowered to make changes every day. Whether you are looking to process overwhelming emotions, achieve specific behaviour changes, develop more meaningful connections, or understand traumatic responses, I am here to support your journey and discover what resilience looks like for you.

Working at the pace we set together, I prioritize developing a strong connection while emphasizing the importance of compassion and empathy. My work is guided by a genuine curiosity about your experience, and I adopt a collaborative approach to your healing. This can feel like warmth, realness, and sometimes even humour, because I am very much a real person!

Growing up around technology, I have witnessed the current problems facing young adults, including social media, loneliness, and self-worth. I myself am very much plugged into the virtual world, because I like to stay connected! Both online and offline, I care deeply about my friends and family, and in particular, my chubby cat. I am looking forward to meeting with you and beginning our work together. Please get in touch to book an online consultation.
