The way in which we learn to understand and express our emotional world will impact how we treat ourselves, how we show up in relationships, and how we find purpose and meaning in life. If you are reading this, perhaps you notice yourself feeling discouraged, overwhelmed, or shut down. Through working together, I can help you navigate this challenging and often lonely experience.

I believe that any individual, regardless of time or circumstance, can utilize their unique ability to create story and meaning to meet the challenges of life with confidence and ease. To be known, accepted and cherished for who you are is an essential human need and it is my great privilege to be a trusted witness.

What to Expect

An effective therapeutic process is collaborative in nature. It is a space where change becomes possible but never requisite. I am practiced in attuning to my client’s emotional world to foster a safe, genuine and meaningful relationship upon which the therapeutic work can rest.

Emotions are observed with curiosity, experienced safely and understood authentically. Leading with emotion can allow individuals to challenge beliefs, patterns and coping strategies they no longer find helpful and move to toward a deeper sense of purpose.

Psychoeducation and skill building can be an important part of the therapeutic process. At times, symptom reduction and stabilization may take priority to ensure safety in the process. I will work with you to create a non-judgmental space that celebrates diversity and balances scientific and artistic approaches to being, learning and helping.

I utilize a variety of evidence-based modalities (mindfulness/CBT/PE/EMDR) while drawing from existential philosophy, Eastern tradition, and somatic modalities. My work is grounded in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and attachment theory which focus on building strong, secure attachments that allow individuals to turn toward one another with fears and needs in safe and non-blaming ways. From here, there is more opportunity to experience partners, loved ones and the world as accessible and supportive.
